    Activ-Clay is an air drying clay, which is fine grained to enable the finest detail for all arts and craft projects.This strong, self-hardening clay is perfect for all levels of sculptors, as it allows for many clay sculpting techniques from hand building to throwing, and accepts a wide variety of finishes.Activ-Clay can be carved, nailed and sanded. This natural clay generally dries within 24 hours with minimal shrinkage, and can be kept for weeks when placed in an air tight container.Tips to avoid cracks when working with clay:- Avoid using excess water while working with the clay. Although water can help to attach two pieces of clay, too much water can get trapped inside and cause cracks.- Use non-porous surfaces like untreated wood, paper, or cardboard to add clay to. These materials allow the clay to breathe and dry easily. Dry your sculpture in a well-ventilated room. Avoid using direct fans or vents, and don't try to speed up the drying process with a hair dryer, conventional oven, or microwave.As Air Dry Clay tends to shrink while drying, adding it to a surface can limit its space to shrink and cause cracks. Therefore, it's recommended to wait until the first layer of clay is ready and then add details layer by layer.
