    Kolinsky Sable is the most expensive and precious brush hair, taken from the tail of a male sable that lives in the Ussuri river area of Siberia or Manchuria in the north of China. Kolinsky hair is fine-tipped and highly elastic, yet strong and supple and ideal for many liquid colors, transparent painting techniques and detailed work. These brushes are great for retouching, watercolor, gouache, inks or oil in painting. The small sizes in this set lend themselves to miniature painting, tin figures, tabletop and modelling. Brushes feature a rust-resistant nickel-plated brass ferrule. Certified green manufacturing with sustainable wood handles made in Germany at our family-owned factory since 1890.
